1. How long are you in the industry?
I have been doing hair for nearly 20 years I started as a Saturday Girl whilst at school and always loved assisting on session work for wedding shoots and shows. I worked in a salon for years before venturing to be a trainer with Wella and finally going freelance 7 years ago. My wedding experience started much earlier …. my parents had a wedding car company and my job back in the late 80’s was to be a courtesy girl serving champagne and holding umbrellas and opening doors. I loved all the romance then and still do!
2. What is your favorite treatment?
I love a indian head massage with a deep rich conditioner, and I love when your hair is freshly coloured.
3. Favorite Skincare/Hair product/make up?
I am a product junkie so its hard to choose for skin I love Eve Lom. I use wella performance hairspray I go threw a lot and I find it brilliant. I also love the Kevin Murphy range the thickening lotion especially. Sebastian products are pure luxury potion 9 has been in my kit bag since day 1 and you can’t beat the Aveda range on fragrance and goodness my favourite being be curly.
4. Best thing about your job?
I Love it! I get to spend a very special morning with a bride 2 or 3 times a week. no morning is ever the same the moment the bride is dressed there is always a wow factor and everyone is there for a celebration! I get to travel around the country and view the wonderful hotels and Houses. For hair at home I get to indulge in my addiction of fashion and products and get to meet people and help them feel good about themselves. If I won the lottery I wouldn’t give it up!
5. Who do you most admire in the industry?
Too many to mention Patrick Cameron is always a inspiration, I love his teaching style. I worked for Dylan Bradshaw when I first moved to Ireland 11 years ago and he is a brilliant business person.
